Water is a critical component of data center development and operations, which not only power Google tools like Search and Maps, but also things like healthcare, online banking and 911 systems. The aggregate water consumption of U.S. data centers is small — they use less than 1% of the water that Americans use on their lawns annually. Nevertheless, we are focused on protecting local water resources in all aspects of our data center operations.
