Tomorrow, the European Society of Human Genetics Annual Conference 2026 starts in Gothenburg (June 13–16), bringing together more than 6,000 participants from nearly 100 countries. We are excited that gMendel® will be part of this global event for human genetics. Our CSO, M. Carmen Garrido Navas, will present the latest results from our research: "International Assessment of Newborn Screening for Spinal Muscular Atrophy Using Advanced Sequencing and Artificial Intelligence" This study was conducted in collaboration with the National Newborn Screening Program of the Ministry of Health of Paraguay. Key findings from our SMA newborn screening study: ✅ Diagnostic Sensitivity: 98% ✅ Diagnostic Specificity: 100% ✅ Cost: Up to 10x lower than current technologies ✅ Turnaround Time: 1–2 days versus 4–8 weeks These results demonstrate the robustness and scalability of the gMendel® platform, delivering exceptional accuracy while significantly reducing both cost and processing time. The findings further validate our technology's potential for large-scale implementation in newborn screening programs globally. By combining advanced sequencing with artificial intelligence, gMendel® enables comprehensive, rapid, automated, and cost-effective screening, supporting earlier diagnosis, faster clinical decision-making, and improved patient outcomes. We look forward to engaging with researchers, clinicians, public health leaders, and industry partners at ESHG 2026 and discussing how innovative technologies can help transform newborn screening worldwide. 📍 See the poster here: https://lnkd.in/dEkQqa5g #ESHG2026 #NewbornScreening #SpinalMuscularAtrophy #SMA #Paraguay #Genomics #Genetics #RareDiseases #Screening #Diagnostics #ArtificialIntelligence #MachineLearning #HealthTech #GlobalHealth #Innovation #PublicHealth #Biotech #VC #Venturecapital
