This morning, five of our team members enjoyed a thought-provoking International Women’s Day panel hosted by She Codes Australia and Robert Walters: “Bias or Breakthrough? AI’s Role in the Gender Gap in Tech.” The discussion explored a critical question for our industry: Will AI accelerate gender equity in tech, or compound the biases already embedded in our data and systems? Representing diverse perspectives across AI and inclusion, the panel brought together industry leaders Matt Mueller, Founder of Voleno; Schellie-Jayne Price, Partner at Stirling & Rose; and Michelle Sandford, Microsoft Developer Engagement Lead. They spoke candidly about: 💡 The very real risks of algorithmic bias 💡 How AI can either widen or close the gender gap depending on how it’s built and governed 💡 The responsibility organisations have to ensure AI is ethical, inclusive, and representative 💡 How AI can expand access to STEM pathways and support career progression for women in tech International Women’s Day is a reminder that equity isn’t something that happens by default. It happens when organisations show up, consciously consider gender biases, and actively design better systems… AI included! #IWD2026 #InternationalWomensDay #WomenInTech #GenderEquity #ResponsibleAI #EthicalAI #GLXDigital
