As we approach the end of the FIFA World Cup, I’m sure there have been exciting moments, disappointing ones, and downright unreal moments. I truly love soccer (football, if you prefer). I played on my team in high school. Honestly, there isn’t a sport I haven’t played or tried. I’m extremely competitive. But here’s the thing. If it isn’t World Cup season, I don’t watch soccer religiously. Or any sport, really. I grew up watching hockey with my dad. That programming didn’t stick either. I don’t watch hockey now. 😂 I’ll take the highlights over a full 90 minutes any day. This year, I got to watch several full World Cup games with friends and family, and I’m grateful for that. Here’s what struck me. As a founder, you can learn so much just by watching these players compete. They play through pain. They adjust mid-game when the plan falls apart. They trust their teammates even when the ball isn’t at their feet. They show up for the moments that matter most, even after months of grinding in silence. Building a company is the same game. Different field. Enjoy this video… Do not get distracted. Stay focused on the work at hand.
