Europe cannot afford to be a bystander in today's geopolitical landscape. This was the clear consensus at an exclusive discussion yesterday in Prague with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, co-hosted by GLOBSEC and the Embassy of Finland in Prague. The working lunch at the Finnish Ambassador's residence gathered high-level European leaders and defense sector executives to address the defining challenges of our era: the evolution of transatlantic relations, ongoing Russian aggression in Ukraine, the global impacts of conflict in the Middle East, and how Europe can emerge stronger from these crises. Participants included Timo Pesonen, Director-General for Defence Industry and Space at the European Commission; Róbert Vass, Founder and President of GLOBSEC; Daniel Braun, CEO of GLOBSEC; and Věra Jourová, GLOBSEC Distinguished Fellow and former Vice-President of the European Commission. Mikko Savola and Miroslav Sklenář also participated, alongside executives from major defense companies. 💡 The core insight: security and economic prosperity are two sides of the same coin. In a fragmenting world, Europe must shift from declaring its values to actively defending them. This strategic imperative will shape the GLOBSEC Forum 2026, taking place in Prague from May 21-23. #EuropeStrategy #DefensePolicy #Transatlantic
