Loconi Intermodal S.A., a member of the PSA Group, has broken ground on its new intermodal terminal in Zbąszynek, marking another milestone in strengthening rail-based connectivity across Central and Eastern Europe. Strategically located along the E20 railway line, part of the Trans-European Transport Network, and near the A2 motorway and S3 express road, the 9.4-hectare terminal will enhance inland handling capabilities and support more flexible, resilient freight flows across the region. Expected to be operational in Q1 2028, the terminal will feature: 🛤️ 4 handling tracks for the simultaneous handling of 2 full-length trains, 📦 A storage yard with capacity for 4,500 TEUs, and 🌳 Low-emission equipment including two electric rubber tyre gantry cranes.
