Should we be concerned about Mercury in our seafood? A recent European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) study found that many consumers are still unclear about which seafood choices are higher or lower in mercury - with 31% incorrectly believing that oily fish such as salmon and trout are among the highest contributors. In reality, responsibly farmed salmon is recognised as a low-mercury seafood choice, while also providing important nutrients like omega-3s, protein and vitamin D.
