Robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks can play a critical role in supporting the wider adoption and scaling of these approaches. Establishing clear baselines, defining key performance indicators, and embedding long-term monitoring into project planning can help improve transparency, support adaptive management, and build confidence among investors and decision-makers. Our latest report, 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱, analyses 88 case studies across Europe and beyond to explore the enabling conditions, financing approaches, governance mechanisms, and implementation practices shaping coastal NbS.  Among the key findings, the report highlights the importance of integrating monitoring as a contractual and budgeted requirement to better demonstrate long-term benefits and support the replication of successful interventions.
