AMPERE FELLOWS GAIN GLOBAL ONCOLOGY EXPERIENCE IN GHANA The University of Pennsylvania AMPERE Fellowship, led by Prof. Stephen Avery, in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh under the leadership of Prof. Saiful Huq, was established to provide trainees with opportunities to apply their knowledge in diverse clinical and research settings while developing the skills needed to address complex global health challenges. Through longstanding partnerships with institutions globally, the program exposes fellows to different models of cancer care, medical physics practice, research collaboration, and health system innovation, preparing the next generation of leaders in global oncology. As part of the University of Pennsylvania AMPERE Fellowship and the Global Health Catalyst Ghana program, the AMPERE Fellows participated in academic meetings, hospital visits, community engagement activities, and discussions with government leaders, researchers, clinicians, and international collaborators. These experiences gave fellows firsthand exposure to diverse approaches to cancer care, medical physics, research, and health system strengthening while demonstrating how international academic partnerships can accelerate innovation, expand educational opportunities, and improve patient care across institutions and countries.
