Most policy models present their conclusions as if the inputs were settled. Andrea Saltelli has spent thirty years arguing they aren't, and that sensitivity analysis — done properly — is what separates a useful model from a confident one. In this lecture, Saltelli (UPF Barcelona / University of Bergen (UiB)) draws on his forthcoming book to examine how global sensitivity analysis can be embedded in policy impact assessment: what it catches that scenario modelling misses, where current practice falls short, and what better statistical hygiene would look like in the work of EU agencies and beyond. 📅 9 June 2026 | 14:00–16:00 CEST 📍 Online and Sala Belvedere, Villa Schifanoia Learn more and register here: https://loom.ly/EmwSuN8 #PolicyImpact #ModelUncertainty Knowledge, Governance, Transformations Gaby Umbach Mira Manini Tiwari Raffaele Ventura
