Airbus is accelerating its digital transformation by evolving its HBCplus connectivity platform into a fully integrated, multi-orbit ecosystem that combines GEO, MEO, and LEO satellite networks. The current HBCplus flex solution already serves 16 customers by decoupling hardware from software to allow service provider flexibility, but Airbus plans to introduce HBCplus modular in 2026, which will feature a dual-antenna design—including Electronically Steered Antennas (ESA)—to enable seamless switching between providers and orbits without expensive hardware replacements. Beyond just internet access, Airbus is developing a new digital backbone and an AI-powered open platform designed to improve operational efficiency through real-time data analysis, exemplified by tools like "Smart Catering" which uses AI to track inventory and reduce waste. This comprehensive strategy aims to provide passengers with a "just like at home" connection while giving airlines global coverage and instant visibility into aircraft performance. ♻️ Repost to help your network get started ➕Subscribe to #global5gevolution newsletter https://lnkd.in/ge9gsyjE ➕Subscribe our YouTube https://lnkd.in/g8M7YvKq ➕Follow us on Kaneshwaran Govindasamy & Global 5G Evolution ➕Click comments
