Meet Kseniia Altomare, a Bachelor student in International Hospitality Business as she shares a few words about her internship experience and what it has taught her. "My name is Kseniia and I am currently completing my first internship after my Experiential Year as a Waitress at Sagra Rooftop Restaurant & Bar at the JW Marriott Venice, in Italy. This experience allowed me to fully immerse myself in the world of luxury hospitality while working in one of the most unique settings in Venice. I chose this internship because of the hotel’s strong international reputation and its commitment to high standards of service. During my internship, I was involved in daily restaurant operations, including guest service, table management, and supporting the team during high-pressure service periods. One of the main challenges I encountered was adapting quickly to the fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and delivering personalized service to guests. However, this pushed me to become more efficient, observant, and confident in my role. What stood out the most to me was the team atmosphere. Despite the intensity of the work, the team was incredibly supportive and professional, which made it easier to learn and grow. Working alongside experienced staff motivated me to continuously improve and take initiative. This internship has strengthened my passion for the hospitality industry and confirmed my interest in pursuing a career in this field.
