With the president suggesting an Iran deal could come as soon as this weekend, we hosted a live roundtable with Jason D. Greenblatt, Former Middle East Envoy at the White House, to explore the likelihood and implications of an imminent diplomatic inroad.   Drawing on his experience in the first Trump administration, Greenblatt joined GLG clients this morning to discuss the dynamics shaping prospects for a memorandum of understanding (MOU), including Trump’s negotiation strategy, goals, and points of leverage, as well as the political currents at play in Washington and Tehran.   Whatever happens over the weekend, Greenblatt said, the road to an MOU and a final deal will be complex, as will the ensuing implications for geopolitics and world markets.   As uncertainty clouds the way forward, we’ll continue to support clients' decision making with direct access to the clearest perspectives.
