Our mining operations rely on a varied network of suppliers who provide the goods, materials and services we need at every stage of the mining lifecycle – from exploration to closure. In Australia, we work with Bowditch Earthmoving to help manage the safe and responsible closure of industrial assets that have reached the end of their operational life. Their work is contributing to the progressive rehabilitation of mining land in the Hunter Valley, and our work with them has helped their business grow to employ around sixty people. The long-standing relationship our Glencore Australia operations have with Bowditch Earthmoving also reflects how #responsiblesourcing is put into practice at Glencore. Through risk-based supplier due diligence and ongoing engagement, we work closely with our suppliers to support safe, responsible operations and deliver positive local outcomes.
