📦 For National Logistics Day, we’re celebrating the people behind the movement of goods, starting with James Ehlers. 🚛 James’ logistics journey began long before joining GLC Distribution. In the early 2000s, he was working as an Operations & Purchasing Director for a night light manufacturer in St. Louis, traveling to China to work directly with factories and managing time-sensitive shipments when deadlines were on the line. During that time, he connected with Derek Scarbrough, who later founded Global Logistical Connections. After years of working with GLC as a trusted forwarding and brokerage partner, James eventually made the move to California and 13 years later, he is still part of the GLC family. 💻 Over the years, James has seen the logistics industry become more digital, with many companies shifting toward online platforms and ticket-based support systems. While technology has created efficiency, he believes something essential can be lost when customers no longer have direct access to a real person who can respond quickly, communicate clearly, and help solve urgent challenges. 🤝 For James, the most rewarding part of logistics is problem-solving. Coming from the customer side of the industry gave him a strong understanding of what clients expect from a logistics partner. That perspective allows him to share insight, anticipate needs, and treat customers not just as accounts, but as partners working toward the same goal. 🏢 When describing GLC Distribution, James says it truly feels like working with family. The team supports one another, stays involved, and works together with a shared purpose. In an industry where people and customers can sometimes feel like numbers, that culture of connection makes a difference. 📦 James believes GLC Distribution’s value comes from combining long-standing logistics experience with hands-on customer support.
