Waste-to-energy plant Syctom Ivry, Paris 13 The new environmentally friendly waste incineration plant for energy recovery in Ivry-sur-Seine near Paris replaces the existing incineration plant and is the largest household waste recycling center in the Ile-de-France region with 350,000 tons per year and 1.4 million inhabitants. This high-tech project is part of an ecological concept and thus overcomes several challenges: Reducing environmental impact: reducing the amount of waste incinerated by 50%, reducing atmospheric emissions, drastically reducing water requirements, reducing odor and noise pollution, reducing truck traffic, greening roofs and facades and adapted lighting. Generation of green energy: creation of an energy recovery system from the collected waste, the steam generated is fed into the CPCU (Compagnie Parisienne de Chauffage Urbain) network.
