🌱 Climate change, biodiversity loss and land degradation are connected. And so are the solutions. Women and men experience these crises differently. Making environmental action gender-responsive makes it more effective, fairer, and more lasting – across all three Rio Conventions at once. That’s why we’re hosting the hybrid side event 'Gender-responsive Environmental Action through the Rio Conventions' on the margins of the UN Climate Change (UNFCCC) Bonn Climate Conference. #SB64 We bring together key stakeholders to develop a shared understanding of gender-equitable synergies and to forge partnerships for stronger cooperation across the three Rio Conventions. Join us on: 📅 9th of June 2026 🕐 11:00–15:00 (CEST) 📍 GIZ Bonn | Room BM 10027 💻 Online: https://t1p.de/mbkvo We are organising the event together with our global project Women's Empowerment for Resilient Rural Areas (WE4R), UN Women, and the Secretariats of the three Rio Conventions – UN Climate Change (UNFCCC), UN Biodiversity (CBD) and the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) – as well as TMG Think Tank for Sustainability and International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD). Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ) will open the event and welcome around 60 key stakeholders. What role does gender play in your environmental work?
