💵 🌍 The future of global finance is digital. New technologies are reshaping financial infrastructure, payments, and services. This transformation offers new pathways to global sustainable development and opportunities for sustainable economic growth. How may low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) benefit from this? How can digital innovation contribute to financial inclusion and economic resilience? 🤝 We have cooperated with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Laboratory for Economic Analysis and Design (MIT LEAD) and Maiden Labs to find out. Together with partner central banks, we have analysed and tested how digital financial infrastructure may support sustainable development and how LMICs can be part of the technological turn. Our report presents results from this practice-oriented work and shows that many LMICs are well positioned to shape digital financial solutions.
