What happened when 135 farmers took part in a live-in study visit in East Nusa Tenggara? 🤔 🤝 In collaboration with Indonesia’s National SDGs Secretariat, the Provincial Government of East Nusa Tenggara, the Regency Government of South-Central Timor (TTS), the Regency of East Flores, Yayasan Plan International Indonesia (YPII), and Caritas Indonesia, the German Federal Government, through the GIZ-supported SDGs SSTC project, has facilitated a 14-day live-in study visit in TTS beginning in early June 2026. 🧑‍🌾 The live-in study visit brought together 90 farmers from East Flores Regency from 32 farmer groups, 20 farmers under the supported project of YPII, and 25 farmers under the support of Caritas Indonesia. 🌱 During the live-in study visit at the horticultural development area of Tubuhue Village, West Amanuban, the farmers participated in a training of trainer (ToT) scheme supported by Krisna Foundation on the topic of: ✅ Horticultural GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) ✅ Market access strategies ✅ Partnership network strengthening The live-in study ended on 19 June 2026 with a closing ceremony attended by the Mayor of South-Central Timor, Eduard Markus Lioe, the Mayor of Flores Timor, Antonius Doni Dihen, the Director of Bappenas, Anang Nugroh, the Manager of the Economic Development Pillar at the National SDGs Secretariat, Setyo Budiantoro, Commissioning Manager of SDGs SSTC Phase II, Zulazmi, and representatives from Bapperida NTT, Yayasan Plan International Indonesia, and Caritas Indonesia. 🎤 Eduar Markus Lioe said that the support provided in TTS has succeeded in establishing agriculture as the foundation of food security, increasing farmers’ incomes, and reducing poverty. Antonius Doni Dihen also highlighted that agriculture using the GAP approach can lift farmers out of poverty. 🏅 This closing ceremony serves as a tangible manifestation of inter-regional cooperation and good governance practices in supporting the acceleration of poverty reduction. #SDGsSSTC #IndonesiaJerman #Agriculture #SDGs
