Excited to share the results of the LONG-LIVE study šŸŽ‰ the long-term extension of our multicenter IG-IBD LIVE project on vedolizumab We followed 782 patients for up to 7 years (4,324 patient-years! šŸ“ˆ) šŸ“Š Key findings: šŸ”¹ 29.4% of patients experienced a major adverse clinical outcome (surgery, hospitalization, or serious adverse event) at 5 years šŸ”¹ Surgery occurred in ~1 in 5 patients (23.4%) šŸ„ šŸ”¹ Non-surgical hospitalizations were more frequent in CD than UC šŸ‘µšŸ‘“ Elderly patients had a higher risk of major adverse clinical outcomes, but NOT of serious adverse events, supporting the use of vedolizumab across age groups šŸ’Ŗ A big team effort from the IG-IBD network, providing real-world "hard outcome" data over one of the longest follow-up periods reported to date.
