helllooooooooo everyone 🫶 you thought you could keep me away?? tea this spicy brings me right back, you know me - okay okay let's get into it some smarty pants decided to try and beat the system. bold move honestly. you thought my people won't notice you? you thought you could get away with it? we already had removed bad actors earlier for the same reasons (although now they are acting saints and talking about other people doing it, I mean.... hypocrisy) but just be aware of them misusing labels, gaming points - this goes against everything GSSoC stands for AND against open source as a whole. we do not tolerate this. at all. here's the thing though - our leaderboard was BUILT for this moment. every point, every PR, every label - all of it is public, transparent, visible to everyone. that wasn't an accident. that was the plan. you, my lovely people, are our best defense. if you see something, say something - [email protected] now i know what you're thinking - "intern!! the cheaters are already on the leaderboard!!!" firstly, breathe. secondly - the leaderboard you see right now is NOT final. the final one drops 1st September, after we've gone through everything manually. the higher they climb by cheating, the further they fall when we pull the carpet. gravity is free and we love that for us. when we catch a criminal red handed - and we will - we reach out to everyone involved, give them a chance to explain and fix it. no co-operation? you're out of the family. simple. also - real quick - the team running this for 55,000+ people is doing it completely for free. like not a rupee. day and night. constructive feedback? always welcome, come find me. posts with malicious intent trying to undermine that? not it. genuinely breaks the heart a little. GSSoC has always been about fair play, real learning, and making opportunities accessible. that's not changing. every good story needs a villain. ours apparently decided to show up this season. but we've got 55,000 of you - so let's make the ending boring for them and good for everyone else 🫡 with great power comes great responsibility. and with great chaos comes your favorite intern. xoxo  intern 🍀
