✨ That’s a wrap on our biggest and BEST semester yet! ✨ This semester was one for the books. We celebrated countless milestones, including hosting the very first Girls Who Code room at Knight Hacks! With over 1,000 hackers in attendance, we were proud to provide a dedicated space for female and female-identifying hackers to wind down, regenerate, and connect, contributing to a noticeable increase in female attendance at the hackathon! We also celebrated a semester of "firsts," launching our Bigs & Littles program. This allowed over 70+ attendees to meet peers with similar interests, receive guidance from industry mentors, and get advice on classes and careers. 🏆 Semester Projects We had a HUGE success with our semesterly projects, featuring over 18 projects, each with multiple members and guidance from our wonderful project leads. A massive congratulations to our winners: 🥉 3rd Place: Project 8 - Moodwell Mentor: Kamilla Amiri Members: Zuhra Memon, Dee Wang, Sydney Hendvichus, Kamala S. 🥈 2nd Place: Project 14 - Potions and Puzzles Mentor: Shianne Wood Members: Sabrina Centeno Lopez, Preethishree Karthikeyan, Katerina Garkova, Bianca Frantzeskakis 🥇 1st Place: Project 5 - A Day in the Office Mentor: Ashritha Koreboina Members: Karina Ann, Shanelle Han, Mia Cabanan, Michelle John Beyond these huge events, we want to thank our amazing tutors and mentors who led sessions on everything from classwork to Foundation Exam prep! We also hosted incredible speakers from Lockheed Martin, Universal, UKG, and more during our general body meetings! We are so grateful for everyone who has been a part of this semester.
