In late 1992, three engineers, each frustrated with their employers' strategic direction, began discussing a radical business idea. Jensen Huang (then 29, director at LSI Logic), Chris Malachowsky (engineer at Sun Microsystems), and Curtis Priem (senior graphics chip designer at IBM and Sun Microsystems) met regularly at a Denny's restaurant on Berryessa Road in East San Jose. Their vision was compelling but contrarian: dedicated graphics processors, not general-purpose CPUs, would drive the next computing revolution.
