Before being the story of a company, this is the story of the Sottoriva family that transformed a passion into a business. It was 1949 when Claudio Sottoriva, at the age of 16, decided to participate in a competition organized by the parish of Marano Vicentino, his native town, for the creation of an artisan exhibition. The parish priest proposed to the young people the creation of any object or instrument, so long as it was designed and built in a completely independent way. Claudio thus decided to replicate a scale model of the moulding machine created by his older brother Giuseppe, who in those years was starting to build his first bread making machines. The result was a small moulder, graceful and extraordinary at the same time, because it worked perfectly. An episode that brought the two brothers closer, starting to outline what their future would be: giving birth to Sottoriva company, a manufacturer of cutting-edge machines for the bread field. The understanding between the 2 brothers was the basis of everything, allowing them to transform their passion into a great adventure. A passion that can still be read today in the eyes of Claudio Sottoriva, while he tells us the story of that still working scale moulder, created almost for fun, when he was only 16 years old.
