Reflecting on this journey, I am filled with a deep sense of gratitude for the opportunity to have curated the official opening of the Inaugural Water Summit in Zimbabwe for #EcoVision in partnership with the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development 🇿🇼 I'll admit that when the organisers initially approached me, I started to feel a little self-conscious. I instantly recalled that God never puts us in situations that we aren't prepared to lead. Taking that risk resulted in the development of The Water & Oil Collection, a cutting-edge fashion artivism in commemoration of World Water Day in 2026. Working with five forward-thinking designers - Saneliso Mpofu, Ishmael Tsakatsa, Sibusisiwe Lynette Falala, #RopafadzoMapira and #BridgetGarawaziva, models: Mpho, Charlotte, Annie-Grace, Nozi & Angel, and ofcourse the talented poet - #KudaRice, we transformed a traditional runway into a provocative educational platform, using striking visual narratives to tackle heavy issues like acid mine drainage, municipal waste, agricultural, industrial & thermal and the impact of pollution on women’s health. I am immensely grateful to my creative partners for assisting me in bridging the gap between artistic expression and environmental campaigning, as well as to the EcoVision team for their trust. I am humbled to have contributed to such an important global dialogue, and it was a great pleasure to employ elegance and purpose to encourage stewardship for our most important resource.
