Alongside the World Health Assembly in Geneva last month, we and the Elton John AIDS Foundation came together to launch a new report for our RADIAN partnership, highlighting five years of community-led action to help end HIV in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. RADIAN grantees – Andriy Klepikov of the Alliance for Public Health Julia from HelpNowHUB Foundation, and Mihai of Asociația Română Anti-SIDA – joined Michel Joly, Vice President of Gilead Global Patient Solutions and Margherita Douglas of the Elton John AIDS Foundation to reflect on how community organizations across the region are helping people access HIV prevention and treatment, continue care during crisis, and support communities too often left behind. As part of the event, Kazakh-Canadian artist Ola Volo brought the report to life by painting a mural mapping the journeys people take to access HIV care across the region, illustrating both the barriers communities must navigate when seeking care and the pathways of support being built through collective action.
