100 AND 1 REASONS TO VOTE FOR LATEEF OMOYEMI AKANGBE, SAN AS NBA PRESIDENT By Chris Dinah Aroma "Leadership is not about titles, positions, or flowery speeches. Leadership is about improving the lives of people." — Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe, SAN. Fellow lawyers, distinguished colleagues, and architects of justice, We stand at yet another defining crossroads in the history of our great Association. The question before us is not who has the grandest manifesto or the loudest campaign noise. The question is simple, yet profound: Is the NBA improving our lives? I have listened. I have watched. And I have come to an undeniable conclusion: Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe, SAN is not just a candidate; he is the movement our Bar desperately needs. Let me tell you why. PART ONE: THE TRACK RECORD WE CAN TRUST They say leadership is a function of capacity. But I say leadership is a function of demonstrated capacity. Anyone can promise. Anyone can read a manifesto written by strategists. But not everyone can stand before you and say, "I have done it before. I can do it again." Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe, SAN can. 1. He Doesn't Just Talk—He Acts While others are still theorizing, Yemi Akangbe has been doing. As Chairman of the NBA Lagos Branch, he didn't wait for a national platform to make an impact. He created impact where he stood. He started the health insurance scheme for lawyers —a welfare initiative that many only dreamed about. He made it a reality. He collaborated with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and secured free training for 100 lawyers to become certified arbitrators—unlocking new income streams for our colleagues. He ensured 15 members received free health insurance coverage —not as a promise, but as a delivered benefit. He launched the Lagos Bar Journal —a quality publication that members receive free once they pay their branch dues. That is value for money. That is respect for the hard-earned contributions of lawyers. He established a Regulation Committee to seriously examine the living wage for young lawyers in Lagos—starting a conversation that nobody else had the courage to start. 2. He Restored Hope When Hope Was Lost Let us not forget what we had just six years ago—under an administration that many praised, but which actually delivered: Free Law Pavilion for lawyers Free additional seals and stamps Increased life insurance payouts Access to finance And where are these benefits today? They have disappeared. Not because they were impossible—but because we lacked continuity and, frankly, we lacked will. Yemi Akangbe is not running to experiment. He is running to restore, rebuild, and revolutionize. 3. He Understands Welfare Is Not Charity—It Is Justice #NBAPresident #ElevateTheBar #ContinuityWithTrackRecord #WelfareForLawyers #VoteYemiAkangbe #TheLeaderWeNeed #TrackRecordWeCanTrust
