Last week, I asked my Instagram community. And you chose Gian. From that poll, two winners came out: young Gian and adult Gian. So I decided to bring them together in the same scene. This illustration is more personal than it might seem. There’s me as a child, playing in the grass at my grandparents’ place, holding Pokémon Mania — the magazine that shaped my childhood and pushed me to draw and create. And then there’s adult Gian. He came back in time just to say one simple thing: “Keep going.” From the window, my grandmother is watching and smiling. Next to her, Jack — the blackbird I grew up with. This piece is a tribute to where everything started — and where everything I create still comes from. It’s also part of a larger story I’ve been developing over the years.
