The Ghana Maritime Authority (GMA) extends Easter support to Accra Children’s Hospital and Weija Leprosarium. The Ghana Maritime Authority (GMA) has extended a hand of support to two healthcare institutions in Accra as part of activities marking the Easter celebrations. The initiative, aimed at supporting the vulnerable and bringing the joy of the season to those in care, saw the Authority donating a significant cache of food items and assorted supplies to the Princess Marie Louise Children’s Hospital and the Weija Leprosarium. At the Princess Marie Louise Children’s Hospital, the GMA delegation was received by the Medical Superintendent, Dr Mame Yaa Nyarko, and the Head of Public Relations and Client Service, Rockson Obeng. The GMA team presented 50 bags of rice, 20 packs of malt, and 10 boxes of chicken to support the nutritional needs of the children at the 110-capacity facility. Presenting the items on behalf of the Board and the management of Authority, the Acting Director of Public Relations at the GMA, Ms Susie Afua Kotoku, noted that the season of Easter provides a unique opportunity to show compassion. She explained that it was important for the Authority to share the festive spirit with the children and expressed the hope that the gesture would make their stay at the hospital more pleasant. The team continued to the Weija Leprosarium, where the Authority donated an additional 10 bags of rice, 10 cartons of malt, and 5 boxes of chicken. The facility currently provides a home for 25 persons living with leprosy and 35 street children. Ms Kotoku commended the management of the leprosarium for their commitment to residents who often face social neglect. Representatives from both institutions expressed profound gratitude to the GMA, noting that the timely arrival of the provisions would significantly alleviate feeding costs during the festive period. #GMA #GhanaMaritime #EasterDonation #CSR #CommunitySupport #ChildrensHospital #WeijaLeprosarium
