327,152,898 push-ups in 24 days. 3,307 of them were mine. That sounds like a very small share of the total, although my arms may still file a different report. Over the past few weeks I took part in The Push-Up Challenge, raising money for mental health awareness and support in Australia. The push-ups were manageable. Mostly. The Australia-based clock-in system from Germany was the more difficult part. But the important number was not really 327,152,898. It was 3,307. That was the number of lives lost to suicide in Australia in 2024. This year, the challenge raised more than $12 million for mental health awareness and support. That makes the sore arms and occasional time-zone confusion feel very worthwhile. I am glad I finished my 3,307. But I would be very happy if next year’s number is lower. I’ll put the donation link in the comments. The window is open until 17 July. If you haven't given already, you still can! Have you ever joined one of these slightly odd challenges where the format felt strange, but the reason made complete sense? #PushForBetter #MentalHealth #Australia
