Tomorrow I’m out of here! Towards Christmas. And definitely better weather. This year didn’t unfold the way I once imagined it would. It meant winding down a project in Australia that I had hoped to bring into operation. Packing suitcases for Germany - not for a week or two, but to start something new. Leaving K+S Group after almost two decades. It also meant stepping into a new role. Taking over the leadership of the VKS – Association of the Potash and Salt Industry. Finding my bearings in political Berlin. And being reminded (after nine years in Western Australia) what a German autumn and winter really feel like. ❄️ What made all of this easier was the way I was welcomed. 🔹 By a new team. 🔹 By new conversations. 🔹 By a new pace. I’m grateful to everyone who was part of this year for me - in big moments and small ones. Now it’s time to be off for a while. Back to a place with a strong raw materials industry. And, once again, much better weather. Wishing everyone a peaceful Christmas time. 🎄 See you on the other side! #Expatlife
