Did you know that air handling units are one of the main sources of noise in buildings – and that #vibrationisolation is the key to solving this problem? Often installed on rooftops, air handling units can transmit vibrations into the building, leading to unwanted noise. Therefore, an elastic bearing beneath the unit is essential. By decoupling the compressor from the housing, even more impressive results can be achieved in terms of vibration and noise reduction – resulting in lower primary airborne noise. Our Isotop® machine bearings have repeatedly proven their effectiveness. Measurements show their superior performance compared to standard machine mounts. Reductions of more than 18 dB in structure-borne vibrations transmitted to the floor have been recorded. For primary airborne noise, improvements of up to 9 dB(A) have been achieved.
