You can't build real team bonds in a hybrid company - or can you? 🤨 Here’s what happens every time we bring the whole smatch team together in the Hamburg office for our quarterly onsites: Entering the office feels different these days. For longtime employees, it’s always like a class reunion with friends you haven’t seen in way too long. For our new joiners, Slack names finally become real people 👥. And the moment we all sit down to kick things off, remote work feels very far away. What remains is one team and a shared sense that what we're building actually matters 🌱. Of course, there’s more. Good chats, intense games, shared dinners, and nights that have their own agenda 🌟. Everything that makes an onsite feel like an onsite. And in the end, that's exactly what fuels us! 🔋 And we saw it all again during our Q1 2026 onsite: conversations sparked fresh ideas, and 19 (!) focused sessions across Growth, Tech, Ops, Finance, and People turned that energy into real momentum 📈. Oh, and did we mention the slushie machine or the karaoke night that turned colleagues into rockstars? 🎸 When our remote smatchies left the office on Friday afternoon, the distance between us felt smaller and the future we’re building at smatch a whole lot closer. Because hybrid isn't a trade-off. It's a choice to work deeply from anywhere and come together with purpose when it counts 💥. This was one of those moments.
