🚨 Men with Three or More Testicles? Yes, It’s Possible 🚨 Men with more than two testicles. Does it really happen? Yes, it does! Polyorchism is the medical term for this extremely rare congenital anomaly. Usually, only one extra testicle is present, but there are case reports of men with 4 or even 5 testicles. 👉 The video shows one such rare case of a 40-year-old patient who presented at ALTA URO - Medizinisches Zentrum für Urologie due to a firm, elastic swelling in his left scrotum. Upon review of the MRI, there may be at least three testicles visible, although in my opinion some uncertainty remains about the right side - a topic worth discussing further. 🔬 If an additional testicle is functional and there’s no sign of testicular cancer, it doesn’t need to be removed. Fun fact: A historical figure known for having three testicles was Landgraf Philipp of Hesse (1504–1567), the founder of the Philipps University of Marburg. This unusual trait even led to a unique permission from Martin Luther in 1539 to have two wives at the same time. The justification? A man with his anatomy couldn't possibly be satisfied with just one wife! Philipp had at least 19 children. A big thank you to PD Dr. David Jean Winkel, EBCR from Zentrum für Bilddiagnostik AG in Basel for providing the images. I look forward to connecting with you! 👏 Have any of you encountered similar cases? Let’s discuss! Wishing you all a wonderful and restful weekend ahead! 🌟 #Urology #Polyorchism #RareDiseases #MedicalHistory #MRT #Testicles
