Germany and Mexico: A Strategic Partnership for Growth, Investment, and Innovation We were honored to participate in the reception hosted by the German Embassy in Mexico during the visit of Dr. Johann Wadephul, Germany's Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs. At a time of geopolitical transformation, evolving supply chains, and increasing demand for trusted economic partners, Dr. Wadephul's visit underscores the strategic importance of the relationship between Germany, Mexico, and the European Union. Germany remains Mexico's largest trading partner within the European Union and one of the country's most significant foreign investors. More than 2,000 German companies operate in Mexico, contributing to industrial development, innovation, technology transfer, and the creation of high-quality jobs throughout the country. Mexico is also Germany's most important trading partner and investment destination in Latin America. The visit comes at a particularly relevant moment as Mexico and the European Union advance the modernization of the EU-Mexico Global Agreement. This landmark agreement is expected to strengthen trade, reduce barriers, increase investment flows, and create greater certainty for companies operating across both markets. Dr. Wadephul recently highlighted the importance of this agreement as a key instrument for facilitating business and deepening economic cooperation between Mexico and Europe. During the event, we shared the story of the German Centre Mexico and our contribution over the past 15 years. Since our establishment, we have supported nearly 500 companies in their successful entry, expansion, and growth in Mexico, helping build bridges between German and Mexican businesses and fostering an ecosystem that promotes investment, innovation, and international collaboration. We were also pleased to highlight through Volker Helms, Director of LBBW Mexico, the leadership and commitment in having contributed significantly to supporting German companies and investors operating in Mexico. Through institutions such as LBBW, the financial foundations that support long-term investment and bilateral business growth continue to be strengthened. We thank Dr. Johann Wadephul, the Embassy of Germany in Mexico , and all participants for creating an important space for dialogue at a time when strong international partnerships are more valuable than ever. Together, Germany and Mexico continue to demonstrate how openness, cooperation, and long-term commitment can drive sustainable economic growth and shared prosperity. #GermanCentreMexico #GermanyInMexico #JohannWadephul #GermanInvestment #EUMexico #GlobalAgreement #Nearshoring #LBBW #EconomicDiplomacy #InternationalBusiness #GermanyMexico #Investment #TradeAndInvestment
