The AHK Annual General Meeting took place on 10 June in Abu Dhabi, bringing together members, board representatives, partners, and distinguished guests to review the AHK’s activities, achievements, and progress over the past year. The meeting was officially opened by Faisal Al Amiri, Member of the AHK Board of Directors, followed by Dr. Martin Henkelmann, CEO of the AHK, who presented the chamber’s Activity Report and highlighted key milestones, initiatives, and results achieved in 2025. During the formal proceedings, members confirmed the appointment of Hussein Shoukry, Managing Director of Siemens Energy Middle East & Africa, and Helmut von Struve, CEO of Siemens Middle East & UAE, as new members of the AHK Board of Directors. We warmly welcome both and look forward to their contribution to the AHK’s future development. Following the AGM, guests gathered for the AHK Business & Diplomacy Dialogue. After a speech by Dr. Henkelmann, we were honored to welcome H.E. Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh, Undersecretary at the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism, for a keynote address. He highlighted the strength of the UAE-Germany economic partnership and emphasized the importance of continued cooperation in trade, investment, innovation, and future-focused industries. We were also privileged to welcome H.E. Alexander Schoenfelder, Ambassador of Germany to the UAE, and H.E. Sybille Pfaff, Consul General of Germany. In a personal and engaging fireside conversation, both reflected on their past four years in the UAE, sharing insights, memorable experiences, and reflections on the deep ties between Germany and the UAE that have shaped their diplomatic journey. As both the Ambassador and the Consul General will conclude their postings this summer, the occasion also provided an opportunity to express our sincere appreciation for their outstanding support of the German business community and their commitment to strengthening German-UAE relations. We thank them for the trust, partnership, and friendship they have fostered over the years and wish them every success in their future endeavors.
