Investor promises sound useful. Portfolio patterns are more useful.   An investor can say they support international expansion. Their portfolio founders can tell you how that support actually showed up.   The difference matters:   ▪️ A promise says, "We can help with market access." A pattern shows whether introductions became real conversations. ▪️ A promise says, "We know this market." A pattern shows whether that knowledge helped founders choose the right one. ▪️ A promise says, "We support our founders." A pattern shows what happened when timelines slipped and traction took longer than expected.   Before going international, founders should not only ask investors how they can help.   They should ask: Who else in your portfolio has done this, and can we speak with them?   The goal is not to catch anyone out. The goal is to understand the operating reality before you build your strategy around it.   What would you rather see before choosing an investor: a strong promise or a proven pattern? 👇 ....... #startupGermany #GermanAccelerator is a program of the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie
