Six years ago, the EPoSS Association created awareness of the opportunities and challenges of #connected and #automated #mobility with its European Roadmap Smart Systems for Automated Driving. Referring to international trends, proposing evolutionary and revolutionary paths to #SAE level 4/5 automation, and showing which technologies for sensing, decision making and actuation would be needed by when, we stated there is no silver bullet, but a need for systemic #transformation. After further elaboration within ERTRAC - European Road Transport Research Advisory Council, CLEPA - European Association of Automotive Suppliers, EU projects #SCOUT and #CARTRE, Mobility.E Lighthouse, and the Strategic Transport Research and Innovation Agenda (STRIA) of the European Commission, the concept is now fully reflected in the #CCAM partnership of #HEurope. In this regard, I feel humbled that the General Assembly of the CCAM Association today elected me for EPoSS to co-lead with David STORER Cluster 2 “Vehicle Technologies” in its Executive Group. Looking forward to further exploring what will be needed to fully expoit the safety and efficiency benefits of #CAD within #CCAM and beyond. https://lnkd.in/gjx5X7m
