It’s been a little over a year since I moved to Singapore, and six months into a role that was completely new to me. Everything felt unfamiliar at first. New city, new people, new responsibilities. I was new to them, and they were new to me. But through all the changes, one thing has stayed the same. I still love being on stage. To be honest, emceeing can feel incredibly vulnerable. Standing in front of a room full of people means allowing yourself to be seen by hundreds of eyes, all at once. Sometimes it feels like being under a microscope. And sometimes I ask myself why I keep putting myself in that position. The answer is simple: human connection. There’s something special about seeing people laugh, smile, engage, and genuinely enjoy being in the moment. There’s something rewarding about helping create an atmosphere where people feel connected, even if only for a few hours. For me, emceeing has never been about being the center of attention. It’s about bringing people together and helping create an experience they’ll remember. I may not be the best at it, and I’m still learning every time I step onto a stage. But if I can make people feel welcomed, energized, or simply help them have a good time, then I know I’ve done my job. Thank you, Constance Bok , for trusting me with this opportunity.
