šŸ›°ļø A few thoughts from GEOINT 2026 Two things stood out this year. First, the keynote by Major General Paul Lynch of NATO put interoperability at the center of the conversation. Systems and data need to work together, across teams and environments, and the explosion of data and AI-generated derivatives is making that harder, not easier. Second, SOCOM and others were explicit about wanting to break free from vendor-locked software stacks. Neither point is new to anyone who works with open source geospatial software. But hearing it framed that clearly, from that stage, matters. Ryan Burley took the Innovation Corner stage with a 5-minute Lightning Talk on how GeoServer, MapStore and GeoNode are already in production for mission-critical GEOINT use cases. He walked through HURREVAC (free to .gov, .mil, .edu), Critical Response Group's CRG Plans, and EMSA's maritime safety platform. Three very different missions, one common pattern: open source delivering high availability, interoperability, and real-time decision advantage in secure environments. If the modernization conversation is on your desk, the recording is a good 5 minutes to invest. šŸ‘‰ https://wp.me/pfwItg-3xQ #GEOINT2026 #OpenSource #GeoServer #MapStore #GeoNode #Geospatial #GeoSolutions
