Congratulations to Jeanne Ruesch, founder of the Otto J. Ruesch Center for the Cure of Gastrointestinal (GI) Cancers, who received the Patrick Healy, S.J. Award at this year's John Carroll Weekend. This award is conferred upon an individual who is not an alumnus/a, but whose professional achievements and record of service to Georgetown University and the community exemplify the ideals and traditions of Georgetown. The Ruesch Center at Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center was founded in September 2009 through a gift from Mrs. Ruesch (Parent ’02, ’09) in memory of her husband, Otto, and has become a leading innovator in GI cancer research and care. In addition to her generosity, Mrs. Ruesch has also been a steadfast leader as a member of Georgetown’s Board of Directors and chair of its Committee on Medical Center Affairs.
