The 26th Annual Men’s Event brought together 160 supporters of Georgetown University’s Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center for an evening of education, philanthropy, and community in support of cancer research. For more than 25 years, the Men’s Event has raised awareness and critical funding to advance research, prevention, and treatment of cancers that disproportionately affect men. This year’s event on June 2 at the Bethesda Country Club introduced the new Learning Lounge, an interactive experience that gave guests the opportunity to engage directly with Georgetown Lombardi physician-scientists. The evening also featured networking and opportunities for guests to support innovative cancer research and included a fireside chat, Inside the New Stadium, with London Fletcher and Andy VanHorn (MBA’04), moderated by Andy Pollin. The event co-chairs Clifford J. Alexander, Floyd E. Davis III, and Paul Schweitzer brought together community leaders, philanthropic partners, and supporters whose generosity helped raise more than $177,000 to advance cancer research and improve outcomes for patients and families facing cancer.
