The world fleet and its order book are worth $2.4 trillion. And 95% of transits through the Strait of Hormuz have collapsed. Those two facts, placed side by side in Steve Gordon's keynote at the TradeWinds Shipowners Forum this morning, said everything about the moment global shipping finds itself in. The numbers from Clarksons Research painted a picture of an industry under extraordinary stress - 7 million barrels of oil per day trapped inside the Gulf, 2% of the global fleet by tonnage stranded, 41% of vessels now fifteen years or older - while simultaneously posting its strongest commercial start to a year on record. The ClarkSea Index is at historic highs. The order book stands at 21% of the existing fleet. One question hung in the air that nobody fully answered: when change is happening faster than at any point in the last twenty years, how do you strategise? Tomorrow the conversation continues. Watching closely. #Posidonia2026 #TradeWinds #Shipping #Geopolitics #Decarbonisation #DarkFleet #GreekShipping #MaritimeLeadership
