Drowning remains a leading cause of preventable death in low-and-middle income communities around the world, especially in young children. Through the Sustain-DP project, we are partnering with Bloomberg Philanthropies and Mobile Creches to expand access to community crèches in high-risk areas. Evidence shows that supervised childcare can reduce childhood drowning risk by up to 88% by providing a safe space for children when they are most vulnerable.
