How many generators does it take to power a stadium like the BMO field? Let's find out! The BMO Field, typically hosts 30,000 to 45,000 fans for a soccer match.  That’s large screens running for the entire duration of the match, sound systems blaring, concession stands being operated and broadcast trucks plugging in all across the venue. Then there are the on-premises facilities that fans and staff would use throughout the game. Field lighting can a consume anywhere between 800 KW  to 1500 KW. Scoreboards and screens are usually in the range of 200 KW to 400 KW. Food stalls can use upto 600 KW and HVAC and facilities pull upto 800KW Replay tech, cameras, commentary box and broadcasts also take up 200 KW.  Typical peak power demand estimates for such a stadium are usually around 2,600 KW to 4,000 KW or 4 MW.  A load like that could be easily managed by four different 1 MW diesel gensets from Seneca Power Generation to reliably power matchdays. #SenecaPowerGeneration #WorldCup #Soccer #Canada #Toronto Image is AI-generated
