Viktor Burlaka: This news isn't about me, but about those who help others endure the war every day. Our study was published in the journal Military Psychology (Taylor & Francis). We surveyed 274 military psychologists in the Armed Forces of Ukraine to understand what drains them and what gives them strength. It turns out that childhood wounds and later traumas increase the risk of burnout; attempts to “numb” stress only do harm, while problem-solving skills offer protection; junior psychologists and women are the most vulnerable.
