When we think about international trade, we often think about goods, routes and markets.   What receives less attention is how quickly the underlying sanctions risk landscape is changing.   Today, organizations are operating in an environment shaped by evolving regulations and sanctions divergence within an increasingly fragmented geopolitical landscape, in addition to new evasion tactics and circumvention. In this context, understanding sanctions risk goes beyond requirements, as it calls for connecting information, assessing context and looking beyond what appears on the surface.   For insurers, this has direct implications on how sanctions risk is evaluated, how businesses are supported and how sustainable cross-border trade can continue to develop.   These were some of the themes explored during Generali’s International Sanctions event in Milan, in collaboration with ANIA, bringing together a perspective on maritime transport from insurance, compliance, and institutional stakeholders.   Because understanding change is often the first step toward managing it. #LifetimePartner27 #RiskManagement #InternationalTrade
