Washington-based CubCrafters introduced a performance upgrade for their Carbon Cub aircraft powered by Austria-based BRP-Rotax's 916 iS engines. The software-only update, developed in partnership with RS Flight Systems and STOL pilot Luke Czepiela, refines engine management to improve throttle response, takeoff acceleration, climb performance, cruise efficiency, and energy management without requiring mechanical modifications. Company officials said the goal was not simply to increase performance figures but to make the aircraft more responsive and enjoyable to fly across a wide range of operating conditions.
