I just shipped MicType on the App Store. 🎉 MicType is a voice-input keyboard for iPhone — but the real idea is to turn your phone into an AI entry point. Short-press to dictate; long-press to speak any instruction that returns text: translate, rewrite, summarize, draft a reply. I built it around three convictions: 1/ AI you control. Not just speech-to-text — long-press and give any command to the model of your choice. 2/ Privacy you can verify, not just trust. Most AI voice keyboards hold the mic open the entire time and ask you to trust their conscience. MicType releases the mic after 6 minutes idle and deliberately never hides the system mic indicator — no Dynamic Island "optimization." No servers, no accounts, nothing retained. You bring your own API key, or point it at your own local LLM — so your text never has to touch big tech at all. 3/ Fair pricing. On-device dictation is free forever. AI is a 1-month free trial, then a one-time $9.99 — no subscription. And the part I care about most: the Mac and Windows versions are fully free and completely open-source on GitHub — because the real home for voice input is the desktop, and I'd rather earn trust than lock it in. Available on the App Store outside mainland China and the EU: https://lnkd.in/d3Ph4a-q If you live in your keyboard like I do, I'd love your feedback — and a share genuinely helps a solo dev. 🙏 #iOS #AI #Privacy #OpenSource #IndieDev #Productivity
