“Going on the Walz” is a traditional journey in German-speaking countries where craftsmen travel for several years after their apprenticeship to gain experience and independence. The initiative “Let’s Walz”, funded by #Erasmus+ as well as Wirtschaftskammer Niederösterreich (WKNÖ) and Arbeiterkammer Niederösterreich and organized by WKNÖ together with the Association for International Skilled Worker Exchange, brings this idea into a modern context: Austrian apprentices go abroad for four weeks and not only expand their professional skills, but also strengthen their independence, language and intercultural competences. Metal technology apprentice Leonie Fletzer from #GGPoysdorf chose Belfast to spend a month abroad and is now sharing her first impressions with us.
